Shimano XT route
The brake recipe uses a 203 mm RT-MT800 CENTER LOCK rotor. Select a CENTER LOCK front hub. A fork with a native 180 mm post mount needs the appropriate brake-maker adapter and bolts for 203 mm.

Build the front end together.
A 29-inch, 160 mm travel example connects the fork to a Boost front wheel and the brake recipes. The frame must approve the fork geometry before either route becomes an order.

The FOX reference is a published original-equipment record, not a retail SKU or a fork identified on your bike. These established generations are examples, not a claim to be the newest models.

The frame sets the limits.
- Travel and axle-to-crownGet the frame maker’s approved range and compare the exact fork specification. Equal travel does not establish equal geometry.
- OffsetConfirm the intended offset with the bike specification; do not treat the 44 mm examples as universal.
- Headset and steererMatch the steerer taper, lower headset bearing and crown race. Record head-tube, headset, spacer and stem stack before confirming usable steerer length.
- ClearanceCheck crown-to-frame clearance through steering and the manufacturer’s tire clearance procedure through suspension travel.
A used fork may already have a steerer too short for the new bike. Confirm all dimensions before cutting or ordering. The fork’s axle-to-crown measurement remains an input to retrieve from its exact specification, not a number inferred here from travel.

Use a front hub, with the right end caps.
A Hope Pro 5 110 mm Boost front hub supplies the relevant front-wheel interface. Select the standard 15 mm configuration for the basic comparison. Hope also offers 20 mm and Torq end-cap options; these are separate selections, not interchangeable labels.
Our existing 148 mm Pro 5 is the rear hub. Keep its rim and tire research, but build the front wheel with front-hub geometry. Recalculate spoke lengths and confirm drilling, lacing and rotor attachment. Rear spoke lengths do not carry over.
A 15 × 110 interface match is conditional evidence. Confirm end-cap contact surfaces and follow the selected fork’s axle installation procedure. Do not transfer FOX’s floating-axle procedure to a RockShox axle.

Carry the rotor size into the fork mount.
SRAM Maven route
The brake recipe uses a 200 mm six-bolt HS2. Select the six-bolt front hub and the adapter/hardware for 200 mm on the actual mount. Do not substitute a 203 mm adapter merely because the sizes are close.

The 2025 FOX manual distinguishes FLOAT and some Rhythm limits; do not apply one maximum to every 36-branded fork. Rotor diameter approval does not settle caliper or carrier clearance.

Check the mounted tire, not only its label.
Reuse the wheel guide’s tire candidates as a starting point, then check actual inflated width and outside diameter on the chosen rim. Confirm clearance at the arch, crown and any fender using the fork manufacturer’s procedure, including full-travel clearance.
The Lyrik D1 listing gives an 81 mm maximum tire width; that alone is not approval of every tire below that number. Tire diameter, tread shape and required clearance still matter. Do not infer a FOX tire limit from the RockShox specification.

Keep setup and maintenance with the fork.
Record the serial/ID, travel, damper, spring configuration and rider setup. Use the matching setup guide for starting pressure, sag, rebound and compression. A shock pump belongs in the kit; tire-pump pressure settings do not provide suspension setup.
Choose seals, foam rings, lubricants, oil quantities and service tools from the exact generation’s manual. Keep lower-leg and damper service requirements separate. Do not transfer a newer Lyrik service kit or a different FOX damper’s oil specification into these examples without documented compatibility.
