Shimano XT PD-M8120

SPD trail/enduro pedal with SM-SH51 cleats included. Complete the pair with compatible two-bolt SPD footwear, cleat bolts and any shoe-specified hardware. SPD-SL is a different system.

Confirm shoe-sole clearance and reliable release. Fit cleat position and retention to the rider using the pedal and shoe instructions.

Race Face Chester

The current Chester has Small (105 × 100 mm) and Large (115 × 110 mm) platforms. Select for foot size and control, with suitable flat-pedal shoes. No cleats are needed.

Chester sizing & serviceable parts

Record the exact generation when ordering pins or service parts. A replacement pin from another pedal is not automatically suitable.

The crank connection still matters.

Confirm the spindle thread against the selected crank, identify left and right pedals, and use the pedal/crank instructions for thread preparation, torque and any required washer. Check spindle shoulder, crank boots and clearance.

Crank length and pedal platform affect the rider’s stance and ground clearance. Changing pedals may also change effective saddle height; revisit the fit rather than copying an old measurement blindly.
